WIKI’s What A Great Way to Collaborate and Discuss

Hey! I’m not the youngest kid on the block but this year I have learned the power of WIKI’s and how they can help to create dialog and collaboration between people. WIKI’s in our school district have helped to get input, energize projects and move agenda’s forward. It allows everyone to come to the table with their ideas. It is one of the many tools at our disposal in this digital age. I thought this short video clip would be helpful to explain the project to any neophytes out there.

  • I agree, Steven. I recently started a 5th grade book club for boys and one for girls. As part of that, I set-up a wiki for them to share ideas about great books to read. I have only met with the boys so far, but they were VERY enthusiastic. During our first meeting we came up with a list of books they love to read and typed it right in the wiki together. Then I gave them instructions for accessing the wiki at home and many have! Students have added pages, edited content, inserted pictures. It also gives their teachers and I a window into their reading. I will be working with the girls next week. I plan to use the wiki for other things as well, such as book review podcasts.
